Shivaji Ganeshan- 1st October

Sivaji Ganeshan is an internationally acclaimed film actor in the Indian film industry. He is one of the first method actors in Asia. Though he is basically a Tamil film actor, his scintillating and versatile performance has made him famous all over the country. His entire life is filled with achievements. He is the first South Indian actor to win the best actor award in Afro-Asian Film festival held in Cairo in1959. He was born in a freedom fighter family in Tamil Nadu on 1^st of October 1928. He was well accepted all around the world because of his popularity as an actor and a good human being. He is one of the most respected actors in Indian film world. His birthday October 1^st is declared as Actor’s day in Tamil Nadu. In 1962 he toured United States, where he was given the honor to be the Mayor of Niagra city for one day. He along with Jawaharlal Nehru is the only two Indians to be honored like this. He was awarded the name ‘Chevalier’ by the National Order of the Legion of Honour in France. He was awarded Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan by the Indian government. He received National Film Award for his performance in the movie ‘Dhevar Magan’. The major awards include, Dadasaheb Phalke Award, NTR National Award, and Honorary Doctorate.

Prem Chopra – 23rd September

Prem Chopra has acted in Hindi as well as Punjabi films. He had acted in over 400 films. The man was born on September 23, 1935 in Lahore.  However, he was brought up in Shimla. He was known for playing villain roles in Bollywood movies.  He married a lady named Uma, and has three daughters named, Rakita, Punita, and Prerana. Punita and Prerana are married to Vikas Bhalla and Sharman Joshi respectively.

Over the years, he has done nearly 300 films, with one of his pet dialogue being “Prem naam hai mera, Prem Chopra”!!!.

Ashish Vidyarthi – 19th September

Ashish Vidyarthi is an Indian national film award winning actor and has worked in the regional film industries also. He was born on September 19, 1962 in Tellicherry (known for the Tellicherry Fort) in Kerala.  The actor started his film career by playing a supporting role in the Kannada film, Anand. A majority of his films were standard commercial masala stuff.

Mammootty – 7th September

Muhammad Kutty, popularly known as Mammootty is an Indian actor working in Malayalam Cinema mainly. The award winning actor was born on September 7, 1953. He was born in a place called Chempu, (Vaikom) in Kerala (known as God’s Own Country for places like Kumarakom, Munnar and Wayanad). He is a successful actor and has worked in parallel as well as mainstream cinema. He is presently the Chairman of Malayalam Communications. He has a wife named Sulfath and two children, Surumi and Dulquar Salman.
